I recall a moment from my early childhood—a vivid memory that has profoundly shaped who I am today. At three years old, standing at the edge of the ocean, I felt the cool sand between my toes as gentle waves washed over my ankles. Staring blankly and lost in the vastness, a familiar sensation of being untethered from time and reality enveloped me. It was trauma brought on from physical and sexual abuse by my biological mother and father.
My foster mother, sensing my disconnection, placed her hand on my shoulder handed me a small pail and shovel. As I dug into the sand and began to build, my focus sharpened, and a sense of purpose emerged, pulling me back into reality. It was one of the first times I felt truly loved, a love that was unconditional and without reservation.
The love I learned from my parents was the wrong kind of love, most likely due to how they were loved and so on. Some families have love, strength, unity and others don't. Throughout my life, despite its many ups and downs, I've clung to that first memory of clarity and connection.
What if there was a way to help others find their way through life's toughest moments? A way to help bring reality to back to the ones who have lost it. What if there was a tool that not only illuminated societal conflicts but also offered solutions that actually make an impact? This is the vision behind TheMothershp, a social intelligence platform designed to transform human connection.
Vision of TheMothershp
TheMothershp is not just an application; it’s a lifeline—a sophisticated web-based application designed to provide tailored solutions to conflicts, and a web portal that brings to light the often-hidden struggles we as humans have to face with in our LIFE. I had often though about the best possible place to launch my system so I decided to turn my pain into passion and to first deploy it within the Child Welfare system, offering insights and analytics to preemptively address issues families may be struggling with before they escalate.
Drawing from personal experiences, like battling postpartum depression after the birth of my first daughter, I've infused TheMothershp with empathy and understanding. The feeling of losing touch with reality, the same disconnection I felt as a child at the beach, returned when I had post partum with my first daughter leaving me feeling helpless and uncertain. It wouldn't be the last time this feeling would creep back into my life. In fact 4 years ago it returned when my foster brother Isaiah was murdered.
How do you even begin to navigate that? I soon found my self lost again with not even an ounce of reality in sight. TheMothershp is a beacon for society, here to help illuminate the darkest of times. It is designed to individually help us over come our own internal and external struggles, struggles that lead us to act out against our own will, struggles that lead us down the wrong path and adversities like drug addiction and poor choices that lead to jail time.
The Core of TheMothershp
TheMothershp employs advanced algorithms designed to inherently understand and resolve conflicts by offering tailored solutions, enhancing connections. These algorithms are crafted to be insightful, logical, and intellectually robust, countering bias and misinformation, thus fostering a more equitable social landscape. Algorithms designed to understand cultural differences and diversities are the forefront of this technological innovation. Our initial focus is the Child Welfare system, drawing from my personal journey to heal and improve the system that shaped me.
Future Goals: Expanding Impact
Once we achieve transformation within the Child Welfare system, our next goal is to address the Juvenile Justice System. America's most vulnerable youth deserve support, guidance, and opportunities to succeed. By applying TheMothershp's social intelligence, we plan to extend our reach, helping to rectify systemic issues faced by these young individuals. The driving impulse leading us down the wrong path will be picked apart and divided into many sub pieces, and guidance tailored to that circumstance will be offered.
A Call to Action
Every feature of TheMothershp is built on the foundation of turning personal adversity into a collective advantage. It’s about more than just solving problems—it's about understanding them deeply and intervening effectively. As I move closer to realizing this vision, I find myself reconnecting with parts of myself long buried under my own past traumas. My mission is clear: to support anyone who has felt the pain of disconnection and to transform that pain into a purpose that uplifts us all. Our trauma does not define us, it makes us stronger, persistent, and resilient.
